I posted a sneak peek of this little jellyfish virus underwater seacreeper the other day. I wanted to show my colored pencils because I was proud of them doing exactly as I asked when set to work. I had this little creeper in my book and had no idea what to do with it. I love taking things I dislike in my sketchbook, drawing more of the same thing but in different colors. Giving work a second chance always seems to be a success for me.
The final piece was going to be in marker but my case of pencils was open, inviting me to use them. Colored pencils are usually reserved for sketching but I just couldn’t help myself. It was also on white but I cut out the negative space and placed it on light blue paper so my tentacles looked like they were under the water. I really like the colors afterall, and the composition. I do believe I will draw these little guys again.
(I started this post out with a wee bit too much about my day, so I cut it out… but if you are interested, please continue here)
